Internship is mandatory, why not do an internship on Curaçao?

Doing an internship is often a mandatory part of a course, but because something is mandatory, it does not have to be annoying! Most internships that you can follow in the Netherlands are also possible to do on Curaçao. Think of internships in the field of administration, dentistry, healthcare, law, catering, events and so the list will go on.

Very handy, before you enthusiastically apply for all kinds of great internship vacancies at CuraStage and / or a super nice student house seeks out at Internship on Curaçao, to discuss this first with your internship supervisor. Unfortunately, not every school / study program has been approved to do your internship abroad. We don't understand this either 😉 but so just check to avoid disappointment.

What makes it so much fun to do your internship on Curaçao? Does it really have any advantages over an internship in the Netherlands? Well tell, .. We think so! And those differences are big, you take this experience with you for the rest of your life.

Living on your own on Curaçao

Most students who are going to do an internship in Curaçao still live at home. This is of course very nice (and easy); your parents cook, do the laundry and clean up your mess behind your ass, what a golden life! If you do an internship in Curaçao, this is immediately over.

At most student houses, only the common areas, including the living room, swimming pool, bathrooms, etc., are cleaned and not your own room. That is entirely your responsibility. And believe us, you want to keep them, unless of course you are a real animal lover and like to have mice and cockroaches as a guest in your room ...

Gaining life experience on Curaçao

Together with your fellow residents of your student house, you determine who will do the shopping today, who will be cooking tonight and then you will have a nice meal together. You arrange everything yourself. Sure, the administrators are there to help you if there is a problem, but you will soon find out that it is actually quite fun to solve things yourself.

The distance with family and friends, which you might normally ask for help quickly, also ensures that you solve more things independently. All of this ensures that during your internship you can actually arrange all the things you would arrange if you were living on your own in the Netherlands. This experience makes you a richer person.
